SafeWave - Creating iLANDS of Safety

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act ("COPPA") requires all websites to inform parents and legal guardians about how they collect, use, and disclose personal information from children under 13 years of age. While we believe anything that is put in place to protect children online is beneficial, it is generally not enough. To exceed the minimum requirements of COPPA, we have restricted not only access to certain parts of our websites, but we have also restricted the iLAND5.com registration process as well. The following policy describes what type of information we collect from your child, how we use this information, and most importantly, how we protect this information.

The SafeWave's Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") is to prevent unauthorized access and other unlawful activities by users online, prevent unauthorized disclosure of or access to sensitive information, and to comply with the Children's Internet Protection Act ("CIPA"). As used in this policy, "user" includes anyone using the computers, Internet, email, chat rooms and other forms of direct electronic communications or equipment provided by the SafeWave family of websites (hereafter referred to as the "network.").

PURPOSE

To foster and maintain an Internet environment for students free from harassment, online bullying, inappropriate content, and other actions that is deemed harmful or unsuitable to students.
